| Hard Landing Inspection |
In 1992, there was a documented hard landing, during which time Bombardier replaced some nose structure and a right main gear axle. The aircraft flew for ten years trouble and incident free when a defect was found on the right wing by Bombardier during a scheduled gear overhaul. After some investigating and engineering recommendations, the right main landing gear attach structure and right main inboard wing spar were replaced with new. The work was done with full engineering support and was performed at Bombardier. No other indication of any other lingering issue was noted. The aircraft also went through a 6/12/24/48/60/240 month, and a 300/600/1200/7200 hour inspection at this time and all discrepancies, whether structural or cosmetic, were repaired to factory new condition. Since then, the aircraft has flown for three years and 1000 hours without any complications or faults pertaining to the repairs. There are no reduced inspection intervals associated with the repair. |
